Backups need to be saved in the safest location possible. After all, your entire reasoning for creating a backup is to provide a reliable source of your files in case the actual copy of your files gets deleted or accidentally removed. Believe it or not, accidental deletion is very common and that’s when software like REMO Windows recovery, undelete tools, and Mac digital photo recovery come into play. However, you probably don’t want to spend your money on these types of things so it’s better if you invest in backing up your files, rather than recovering them. This way if you accidentally delete them you don’t have to turn to the possibility of recovering them but rather the actuality that you have a copy of that file stored safely in another location. REMO Backup can help you safely backup your files and it’s an excellent choice for your computing needs.

However, deciding where to store your backups can be the most difficult part of the operation. A lot of people buy a second hard drive, install it in their computer and consider the job complete. However, if you are storing critically important information you probably will want to go a step above this. What if your computer became infected by a virus and all attached hard drives developed the symptoms and the information you had stored and backup up on the second drive became corrupted? Suddenly your entire system has suffered from a huge malfunction and you’ve lost everything. Storing backups on external drives but more importantly external servers is a better alternative. You can buy backup servers for your files on the Internet and they’re always reliable.

Backup has been known to be the best methods of preventing data loss. The data might be of any type, documents, media files, system files and even PST files which contain all your email data. Taking a backup of all your data not only avoids the trouble of having to lose your data, but also makes the need for a data recovery software unnecessary. However, failure to backup data on a regular basis and in a right manner could mean data loss, and the need for data recovery software then becomes essential.

With respect to Outlook, backup is more than just a copy of your PST file. A copy of the PST file is enough if you only want the data related to your emails, but it is not enough, if you want to protect other Outlook data like Outlook Profiles, Dictionaries, Stationeries, Signatures, etc. The need for Outlook Backup software is essential for a complete backup of all your Outlook data.

Not only is a backup of Outlook essential, but it is also very important to perform the backup task on a regular basis, so that the backup file that we have is an updated one, and we do not have to lose out on some part of the data. It is definitely a strenuous task, to manually backup Outlook emails task on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

REMO Outlook Backup and Migrate software makes this task easier by including a backup scheduling option in its software. This Outlook Backup utility lets you schedule the backup process on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, thereby making the backup process an automated task. This powerful backup tool not only takes a backup of your PST file, but also takes a backup of other Outlook data like Outlook Profiles, Dictionaries, Stationeries, Signatures, Templates, RSS Feeds etc., with ease.

Recovering files that you’ve lost can be an important task and if not done properly, it can become very detrimental. Making sure that you choose the right software to recover files is extremely important. Some software is going to be better than others and the method in which, they recover files will also be different. One of the most promising features about REMO Recover software is that it doesn’t demand any heavy technical skills from its users. You simply have to follow the instructions that it presents to you on the screen in an interactive and easy to follow interface, and in a flash, the whole disk recovery process is complete.

It works by allowing you to launch the software and instantly be able to recover files that you have either deleted or misplaced and have forgotten about the whereabouts of the files. Many a time virus attacks, malicious content and power surges can corrupt the files stored on your computer. If this is the case, and you can’t open the files, a data recovery software like Remo Recover is going to become essential to your success. Enabling you to search for any lost partitions that you have on your drive and be able to recover files directly from its location is going to save you a lot of time and money. With the Remo Recover utility you can quickly and easily access the drive, let the software analyze the drive for the data you are looking to find, and then proceed with recovering the data into a new safe location.

When a file is created, it has its first bite at existence, an existence which continues until you, in your casual and careless manner, delete it. Deleting the file isn’t the end, though. All you need to do is open up the Recycle Bin on your desktop, select the file and drag it onto the desktop or into an Explorer window to recover it. Or simply double-click to open the Recycle Bin, select the file, and choose Restore from the pop-up menu to restore it to its original folder.

In fact, the file is not moved to the Recycle Bin at all. Instead, the file stays in the same place but its directory entry i.e. the complete path and filename of the file, is removed and placed in a hidden folder called Recycled. (Note: If you have more than one drive in your computer, you’ll have a Recycled folder for each drive.) The file is then renamed. The original name and location of the file are stored in a hidden index file, called INFO2 (or INFO, if you’re using Windows 95), located in the Recycled folder.

It is because of this vey fact, that deleted data recovery is possible, if you are quick in realizing the mistake, and making some swift moves. It is recommended that you make use of REMO Recover (Windows) Basic Edition software for deleted data recovery. The software lets you recover all the deleted data with a few clicks of the mouse.

Every system running on Windows starts to show signs of slowing down after its usage exceeds one year. This is the same even for Windows XP. The wear and tear of the operating system, can be attributed to shutting down and restarting of the system multiple number of times. After performing multiple number of restarts, Windows XP usually loses its, stability. It usually starts with minor errors that pop up on the screen, but gradually it results in a whole system crash. Re-installing is surely a great solution for this problem, but the surety of not losing out data cannot be given.

Most of the data is lost from the All Users folders and the Default User folder, once re-installation of Windows XP is completed. You may also end up losing most of your desktop shortcuts in the process. To recover lost files after reinstall Windows XP, it is advised that you stop using the affected PC, and get yourself, a good data recovery software.

REMO Recover (Windows) Pro Edition software lets you recover lost files after reinstalling Windows XP, with ease. Its easy-to-use interface makes the data recovery process a simple task, even for a novice. The software also lets you create a disk image, and later recover data from the created disk image.

When question about data security arises, deleting the files doesn’t ensure safety in any ways. It is still recoverable as the data still exists on the disk and if by chance it falls in wrong hands then your data is no more secured. High-quality Disk Eraser would help to delete file beyond recovery by overwriting the data several times based on the shredding method selected.

Remo File Shredder supports several methods of shredding data or free disk space that are based on security levels. In general, if the data is overwritten several times then the data recovery would be impossible.

It works on the same principle by overwriting the data or free disk space with selected method several times. If low security pattern is used to erase the data then there are chances that the recovery could be done by hardware specialists who can read off the disk and get the data back with a pattern of bits.

High security shredding methods are bit complicated. They overwrite the data with selected patterns several times that makes the data impossible to recover. Remo file shredder use powerful algorithms like NATO, NAVSO, Peter Guttmann etc. that overwrites the data several times. Once these methods are used to wipe data, then hardware recovery attempts also would fail.

Remo File Shredder utility provides nine shredding methods for erasing data:

Fast Zero Overwrite

Random Overwrite

US Navy, NAVSO P-5239-26 – RLL

US Department of Defense (DOD 5220.22-M)

DOD Standard 5220.28 STD

North Atlantic Treaty Organization – NATO standard

Peter Gutmann Secure Deletion

German:VSITR

US Department of Defense (DoD 5220.22-M) + Gutmann Method

Data recovery certainly was simpler in 1991 when Disk Doctors first opened their doors. Back then a good portion of the data recovery work was based on retrieval of files from soft floppy disks. With hard drives holding data in MB as opposed to GB, that need to recover data locked away in digital devices was just as acute, but the process to recover it was far more simple. The data recovery programs themselves were extremely simplistic. To begin with the use of a graphic user interface in a data recovery tool was unheard of. Data recovery tools were simple scripts operating from the DOS command line function. Of course the primary change is that focus is not placed on file recovery as opposed to strict disk data recovery.

Make no mistake hard drive data recovery remains the overall largest task in the area of data recovery. But, recovery of files from peripheral devices represents the greater need for the average end user. Perhaps this latter thought best shows the overall present status in the world of data recovery.

An excellent example of an essential field of data recovery is in the area of email recovery. To properly understand e-mail recovery we must first divide the topic into two distinct areas. These are web based e-mail recovery and local client based recovery. Almost everyone is familiar with web-based e-mail. This is the service you received usually free of charge from companies such as Yahoo, AOL or Google. The process to recover deleted emails when using these free services can be accomplished in only two ways. The first is very simple. Most web-based e-mail comes within included recycle or trash bin. When you delete an e-mail you have received on Yahoo or one of the other services that message is temporarily stored in the online server’s trash. Your navigation column should show a folder marked as such. Deleted messages are stored in this folder for around 48 hours. Simply open the folder, find your message and click on restore. If the time limit for restoration of the deleted e-mail stored by a free e-mail service has expired you still have one more chance and option to recover your deleted e-mail. For this you will need a third party general-purpose data recovery tool. Use this tool to scan your computer’s hard drive and in particular the temporary Internet files. If you have opened the e-mail before you have deleted it you should be able to find and recover that message.

When your messages are sent, received and stored using a local e-mail client the scenario for e-mail recovery is far different. Almost always the local computer use of an e-mail client means use of either Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft Outlook Express. These are the two most popular home-based e-mail systems in the world. Outlook Express comes bundled with Internet Explorer absolutely free. The larger, parent program Microsoft Outlook is a major part of the Microsoft Office suite.

Outlook Express e-mail recovery focuses on DBX repair. DBX is the file extension used for Outlook Express messages. When an Outlook Express message is lost, damaged, or deleted it must be search for and found using proprietary coding structure recognition technology. Successful DBX recovery and hence recovery of Outlook Express recovery hinges upon finding a sufficiently powerful computer and a third party OE mail recovery tool.
